MacOwan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mahone.

Mahone lands with a kick to the temple. MacOwan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
MacOwan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mahone.

MacOwan's coach down at Jef Li's MMA(13 coaches, 49 cap) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on MacOwan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Mahone fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt MacOwan.
Mahone's hands are dropping dangerously low here and MacOwan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mahone scrambles back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mahone defending well as MacOwan loads up on a big left hand.
Mahone connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

MacOwan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mahone can pounce on him.

Maverick throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Filter gets through Maverick's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Filter tries to throw a body punch but Maverick avoids it by throwing Filter back against the cage.

I was talking to Maverick's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Maverick seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Filter is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
