Starkard wants to clinch up but Fernandez keeps it at a distance.

BigMan tries for a takedown but Smash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
BigMan tries to close the distance and clinch but Smash swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

BigMan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smash tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. BigMan is in Smash's guard.

BigMan is nestled in close to Smash, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
BigMan is taking a breather. Smash says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
BigMan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
BigMan slows the pace down in half guard.
BigMan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smash with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

BigMan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

BigMan wants to take Smash's back but he can't do it this time.
BigMan lands a couple of good shots and Smash has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Kurki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soplamocos tries to avoid it but Kurki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soplamocos to the ground. Soplamocos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Soplamocos loads up on a big right hand but Kurki slips the punch.
Soplamocos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kurki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Soplamocos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Soplamocos and the ref steps in to end the fight! Soplamocos can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

A very excited looking Ari Kantola rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Bubba James spoke after the fight, saying 'I gave it my all. I would like to thank Jonathan Rowe for the chance at the belt. I apologize to my fans around the world. I WILL BE BACK!!'.
