The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sykes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sykes tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Bolelli actively working from the bottom here.

Bolelli has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Sykes. Oh but Bolelli has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Sykes goes limp - he's gone! Bolelli jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Clayton loads up on a big right hand but Robinson slips the punch.
Clayton throws a jab when Robinson was well out of range.
Robinson misses with a straight left.

Clayton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Malone throws a right and a left that both miss.
Davis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Malone is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Malone tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Davis defends well and Malone ends up having to push Davis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Davis is looking for a triangle but Malone pushes his legs off easily.

Davis has his foot on Malone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malone works his way back into a safe position though.

Malone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
