The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cigan clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.
Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cigan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Cigan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Smith keeps control of Cigan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Cigan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cigan tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position.
Smith tries to throw a body punch but Cigan avoids it by throwing Smith back against the cage.
Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cigan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Smith is working for takedown but Cigan is calmly controlling the position for now.
Crni Cigan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Smith.
Cigan tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cigan feints a jab promting Smith to slip. Cigan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smith slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Cigan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cigan has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cigan tries to circle away but Smith has him pinned against the cage.
Smith has Cigan pressed against the cage, preventing Cigan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cigan is trying to break free.

Smith jumps guard and drags Cigan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Smith wants to stand and escape but Cigan is having none of it.
Smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Cigan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Crni Cigan.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Cigan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cigan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cigan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cigan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Smith has an Americana. Cigan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Smith is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Smith hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

OReilly postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Vader on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Vader doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Studinski feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Maul sprawling to the canvas! Maul rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Studinski finish him?!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Oh Maul is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Studinski and Maul are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Studinski throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Maul into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Studinski knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
