I think Benson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to R-Swift - Awesome God. Dan Benson had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

With a record of 13 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arturo Gatti!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatti throws a nice looking combination but Benson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Benson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gatti's waist but Gatti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benson off to one side.
Benson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gatti counters with a head kick. That will keep Benson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Benson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gatti manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gatti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Benson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gatti has managed to get both his arms back between Benson's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Duncan Trussell was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
