Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casius Irving (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kip Slizer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irving comes to the cage accompanied by Mosh. Slizer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Reckless and The Brave kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kip Slizer enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slizer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Irving to the ground. Slizer is now in Irving's guard.
Irving looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Slizer passes Irving's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Slizer decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Slizer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Slizer is staying tight to Irving's torso, preventing him from escaping.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slizer tries for a kimura but Irving is defending well.
Slizer works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Irving is letting Slizer control him for a moment.

Slizer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Irving to his feet.

Slizer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Irving was covering up waiting for the punch and Slizer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slizer stops Irving from standing up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slizer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kip Slizer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Slizer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Slizer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Irving sprawls well initially but Slizer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

It looks like Slizer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kip Slizer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kip Slizer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Irving gets caught napping as Slizer dives in and scores a takedown. Irving manages to retain guard.

Slizer seems to be working for a kimura but Irving defends the submission attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slizer uses his free foot to push down on Irving's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Irving.

Slizer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Irving's face.
Slizer lands a nice shot to the head.
Slizer cracks Irving with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

It looks like Casius Irving has been cut.

Slizer controlling the position easily from mount.
Slizer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Irving looks a forlorn figure.

Kip Slizer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Franko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dicks circles away quickly and effectively.

Dicks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Franko throws a good cross that connects.

James Franko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dicks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dicks is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Franko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dicks has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Franko is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dicks yanks on the arm and Franko is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dicks.
