The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simunic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Medeiros swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Throttle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason moves in looking to clinch but Sharpe pushes him off.

Mason turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mason manages to end up in side control.
Sharpe is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sharpe is positioning himself well to prevent Mason advancing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sharpe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mason is trying to get back to his feet but Sharpe has full control of the position and if anything, Mason has just worked his way into a worse spot.
