1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lex Luthor! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luthor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. August looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. August on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if August tries to get out of the position. Luthor working the ground and pound. Luthor scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at August to see if he's OK.
Luthor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by August, who protects the arm well. August controls the position for a moment. Luthor fails to land a wild elbow strike.
August is trying to control Luthor's posture but Luthor avoids it. August might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. August looks to move to half guard but instead Luthor has passed into mount! Damn! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hernandez tries to clinch but McDonald moves out of range. Hernandez closes the distance looking to clinch enabling McDonald to counter with a crisp jab. Hernandez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McDonald. McDonald misses with a straight left. McDonald fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hernandez on the side of the head. McDonald throws out a loose jab but Hernandez uses good head movement to avoid it. Hernandez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hernandez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hernandez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hernandez tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

 The ref stands the fighters back up because Jason McDonald just wasn't active enough. Hernandez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McDonald finds it's way round the side to connect with Hernandez's head.

Hernandez shoots in looking for a takedown. McDonald tries to sprawl out of it but Hernandez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McDonald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McDonald is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hernandez. Omar Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McDonald is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. McDonald working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.  Omar Hernandez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hernandez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and McDonald counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gobblecoque is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gobblecoque tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Carter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
