The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lister avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lister tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Neuer was well out of range. Poor timing from Lister.

Lister throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Neuer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Lister holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lime Lister will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Neuer slaps away a takedown attempt from Lister, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Whack! Neuer lands a heavy head kick that drops Lister. The ref tackles Neuer to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Lister was done.

Griggs fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Banner avoids it really well and circles away.
Griggs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Banner manages to avoid it.
Griggs cracks a nice hook into Banner's ribs.
Griggs uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Banner has time to react.

Banner bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Griggs! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

It looks like Chad Griggs has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griggs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Banner is pushing down on Griggs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Griggs is fighting to maintain full guard but Banner has managed to sneak the leg through.

Banner is working for a kimura but Griggs is defending it quite comfortably.

Griggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
