1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Tal! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earth Jr misses with a wild body shot. Tal wants to clinch up but Earth Jr keeps it at a distance. Earth Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tal moves away.
Earth Jr gets a takedown into half guard. Tal is trying to maintain the position but Earth Jr is very close to passing his half guard.
Earth Jr seems to be looking for submissions.
Earth Jr lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Earth Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Earth Jr is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mikhail Tal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Earth Jr swings for the body but Tal moves out of range.

I really don't envy Earth Jr right now.

Father Earth Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

 The ref stands the fighters back up. Mikhail Tal was stalling too much, according to the referee. A telegraphed right hand from Earth Jr misses the target.
Earth Jr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tal was covering up waiting for the punch and Earth Jr finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Earth Jr defends it easily.

Tal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tal, as that shot connected.
Tal jabs Earth Jr right on the nose. Earth Jr blinks but takes it well. Tal fails with an attempt to clinch.
Earth Jr tries to move into range but Tal moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Earth Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tal moves away. Tal has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Tal misses with some punches.
Earth Jr looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Tal. Earth Jr wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tal throws a head punch that misses. Tal lands on the inside with an uppercut. Tal tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tal. Tal tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Earth Jr's elbow. Earth Jr has Tal pushed against the cage. Earth Jr blocking some punches.

Earth Jr is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Tal is keeping busy. Tal lands on the inside with an uppercut. Earth Jr looking for a takedown. Earth Jr is trying to break the clinch but Tal has him pressed against the cage. Earth Jr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tal has him pressed against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tal lands with a cross. Tal scores with a hook.

Grey anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Reich and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Grey slips an arm under Reich chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Grey has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Grey is squeezing on Reich like an anaconda would it's prey. Reich fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Onmeballs shoots in for a takedown but Zudd shows good takedown defense. Onmeballs shoots for a double leg takedown but Zudd sprawls well. He's pushed Onmeballs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Zudd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cueball Carmichael! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zapp Brannigan! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brannigan takes a body punch but keeps moving. Carmichael throws a combination. Brannigan tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
 It looks like Zapp Brannigan has been cut. Carmichael throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brannigan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Carmichael goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Carmichael ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carmichael lands a jab to Brannigan's midsection. Carmichael fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brannigan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carmichael sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Brannigan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carmichael changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brannigan tries to avoid it but Carmichael manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brannigan to the ground. Brannigan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Carmichael shoots for a takedown but Brannigan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carmichael really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Carmichael wants to clinch.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Brannigan leaning his opponent against the cage.
Brannigan lands a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Brannigan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Brannigan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Brannigan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Carmichael on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carmichael tries to get out of the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Brannigan wants to control from the top but Carmichael keeps moving. Carmichael wants to get back to his feet but Brannigan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Brannigan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carmichael is breathing heavily.
Brannigan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brannigan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
 OK we're going to have a standup here. Zapp Brannigan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Carmichael is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brannigan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carmichael quickly recovers to half guard. Brannigan controlling the pace.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Brannigan works his foot free and advances to mount.
Brannigan working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Carmichael turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Brannigan off and cradles Carmichael's limp body as Brannigan celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Zapp Brannigan!
