Kawasati is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Prush still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Prush has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yuuto Kawasati.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fuujin.
Fuujin misses with the combination.
Fuujin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matsumoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Fuujin.
Matsumoto wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A slow jab from Fuujin misses its intended target.
Fuujin lands a really nice looking cross but Matsumoto seems unphased.
Fuujin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Fuujin digs a good body shot into Matsumoto's ribs.

and Fuujin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Matsumoto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fuujin - the referee stops the clock and Matsumoto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fuujin. Matsumoto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fuujin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matsumoto manages to avoid it.
Matsumoto tries to clinch but Fuujin moves out of range.
Fuujin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Matsumoto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Matsumoto throws a hook to the side of Fuujin's head but Fuujin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Matsumoto takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fuujin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Matsumoto.
Matsumoto misses with an uppercut.
Matsumoto has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Fuujin.

Fuujin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Matsumoto did well to prevent Fuujin getting side control.
Fuujin passes the guard and advances to mount!
Fuujin wants to take his opponent's back but Matsumoto doesn't allow it.
Matsumoto is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fuujin controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fuujin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Matsumoto is on top in guard.

Matsumoto lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Matsumoto shoots for a double leg takedown but Fuujin sprawls well. He's pushed Matsumoto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Matsumoto scores with a hook to the body. Fuujin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fuujin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fuujin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Matsumoto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Fuujin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Matsumoto.

Matsumoto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fuujin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Matsumoto has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Matsumoto and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Powers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kongo.
Powers lands with a good body shot.
Kongo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kongo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Good leg kick by Powers there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Powers lands a nice shot that snaps Kongo's head back.

Powers takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A shot to the liver by Powers. Beautiful body shot.
Kongo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Powers.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Powers cracks the inside of Kongo's front leg.
Powers drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Kongo's head, knocking him out cold! Powers is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
