Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Kirk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Street! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Street digs a good body shot into Kirk's ribs. Street is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Street fails with the takedown so Kirk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Street is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kirk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Street works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kirk trying to control but Street is working from the bottom. Kirk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Street swivels though and keeps the full guard. Street keeping moving, preventing Kirk from controlling successfully. Street working for submissions but it's allowed Kirk to get to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kirk is keen to just control but Street is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirk is working for a kimura but Street is defending it quite comfortably.
Street is trying to stand.
Street wants to stand back up but Kirk manages to pass into side control.
Kirk stands up. Street moves to clinch but Kirk breaks away and Kirk holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirk misses with a body punch.
Street is trying to push Kirk away but Kirk has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Street prevents a body shot from Kirk. Kirk manages to break the clinch.
Kirk is looking to clinch. Street misses with the combination.
Kirk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Street manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Street throws a right and a left that Kirk avoids nicely. Street works over Kirk's head and body with a nice combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Street doesn't manage to clinch there - Kirk circles away.

and Street counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kirk closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Street did well to prevent Kirk getting side control. Street is not content to let Kirk control the position. Street tries to get to full guard but Kirk has control of the leg. Kirk lands with a punch from half guard. Kirk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Street is trying to stand back up but Kirk is controlling him
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Street keeps working. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Street really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kirk stalling.
James Kirk has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Street is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kirk sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kirk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Street tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kirk is in Street's guard. Kirk wants to control from the top but Street keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kirk dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Street gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kirk counters with a nice kick to the body. Street misses with a series of wild punches.
Street stalks Kirk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kirk's face. Kirk staggers backwards, shaken. Street fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kirk fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Street to the ground. Kirk is now in Street's guard. Kirk showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kirk in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kirk's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kirk postures up in Street's guard and throws a big left but Street blocks it. Kirk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Street is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Street keeping moving, preventing Kirk from controlling successfully. Kirk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kirk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kirk wants to control from the top but Street keeps moving. Kirk is really struggling to control Street but he's trying to hold on to the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kirk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirk won't allow Street to get back to his feet. Kirk with a nice head shot there. Kirk pushes down on Street's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kirk is looking to take a break and control but Street is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kirk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kirk decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Kirk dives in and scores a takedown into Street's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Street keeping moving, preventing Kirk from controlling successfully. Street trying to control the position.
Street wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kirk manages to pass to side control. Kirk is looking to stall here but Street recovers full guard. Kirk stands up and waves to Street to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirk has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kirk has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Street clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Kirk tightening his grip on Street, looking for the choke. This has been an exciting period of action! Street is trying to get back to his feet but Kirk has full control of the position and if anything, Street has just worked his way into a worse spot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kirk trying to control momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kirk dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A nice combination there by Street.
Kirk takes a body punch but keeps moving. Street tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Street misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Street goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Street swats away the attempt to clinch by Kirk. Street fails with the takedown. Street tries to sprawl but Kirk drives through with a takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kirk looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Street is looking to control Kirk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Street avoid being mounted? Street is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kirk jumps into side control! Street takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Street wants to get back to his feet but Kirk is dominant here and he's now got Street's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirk has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Street has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kirk biding his time, looking for the opening.
Kirk has the hooks in. Street is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. A lull in the action here.

Street holding both Kirk 's hands and preventing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kirk trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirk is landing with strikes. Street can't take much more of this. Kirk lands shots from the back. This has been an exciting period of action! Street tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Kirk tries to control but Street wriggling away. Street tries to control the position but Kirk now has his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kirk has the hooks in. Street is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Ted Street has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Kirk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kirk trying to control.
And that's the end of the fight! James Kirk showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Takamura. Those never looked like landing. A nice leg kick lands there from Kendall. Kendall takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Takamura misses with an uppercut
and Kendall counters with a nice low kick that buckles Takamura's knee momentarily. Takamura fails in his attempt to clinch. Kendall misses with a few strikes there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jab, jab by Kendall - just one landing. Takamura misses with an uppercut
and Kendall counters with a shoot takedown. Takamura fights it but they end up in guard. Kendall stands up and waves to Takamura to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takamura waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kendall. A head kick by Takamura misses and Kendall counters with a nice leg kick. Takamura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kendall tries to avoid it but Takamura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kendall to the ground. Kendall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Takamura fails to land the takedown. A swing and a miss from Takamura.

and Kendall counters with a stiff right hand. Takamura throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kendall counters with a low kick, right behind Takamura 's knee. Kendall stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Takamura throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kendall finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Kendall connects with a right hand. Takamura shakes it off. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A cross from Kendall lands. Kendall throws a left and a right that both miss
and Takamura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takamura misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamoru Takamura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kendall closes the distance and clinches. Kendall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Takamura fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kendall lands with a kick to the temple. Takamura shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Mamoru Takamura has been cut. Takamura shoots in looking for a takedown. Kendall tries to sprawl out of it but Takamura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kendall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mamoru Takamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takamura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kendall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takamura somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kendall circles away from the clinch attempt and Kendall counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takamura swings widly with a right hand
and Kendall counters with a low kick, right behind Takamura 's knee. Kendall lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kendall connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Takamura misses with a left hand and Kendall counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Takamura takes a body punch but keeps moving. Takamura misses with a jab to the body
and Kendall makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Mamoru Takamura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Takamura has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kendall finds it's way round the side to connect with Takamura's head. Kendall scores with a kick to the midsection. Takamura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kendall's waist but Kendall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takamura off to one side. Takamura is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Takamura shoots in looking for a takedown but Kendall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Takamura's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamoru Takamura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Takamura tries to clinch letting Kendall counter with a right hand. Takamura tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kendall counters with a three punch combo that has Takamura backing up. Takamura nods at Kendall to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A cross from Kendall lands. A solid leg kick lands there for Kendall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kendall lands with a straight right. Takamura didn't see that one coming. Kendall dips to his left and cracks Takamura with an uppercut! A head kick misses from Takamura. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Takamura. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Nice jab there from Kendall. Kendall cracks Takamura with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Takamura doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kendall counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kendall scores with a nice strike. Kendall fails with a takedown attempt. Takamura rushes Kendall and presses him up against the cage. Kendall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takamura falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kendall counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kurt Kendall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mamoru Takamura's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Takamura wants to clinch and Kendall counters with a thumping low kick. Takamura looks for a takedown but Kendall sprawls well. Takamura takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Takamura tries for a takedown but Kendall circles away easily and Kendall counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Takamura wants to clinch but Kendall slips to the side and Kendall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kendall throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Takamura misses with a jab to the body
and Kendall makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kendall pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Takamura back to the cage. Kendall follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kendall lands a head kick!
Takamura misses with a right hand enabling Kendall to counter with a crisp jab. Takamura is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A head kick by Takamura misses and Kendall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kendall scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kendall throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Takamura tries for a takedown but Kendall circles away easily and Kendall counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamoru Takamura. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takamura walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kendall lands a jab to Takamura's midsection. Takamura has his takedown stuffed and Kendall counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kendall throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Kendall moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kendall scores with a hook to the body. Takamura takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Kendall throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Kendall connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Good leg kick by Kendall there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kendall lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Takamura takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kurt Kendall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kendall tests Takamura's chin there with a solid looking shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takamura rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Kendall counter with a right hand. Kendall dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Takamura defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kendall. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takamura looks to clinch and Kendall counters with a big head kick but Takamura shrugs it off. Mamoru Takamura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Takamura needs to keep his hands up - Kendall had a free shot at his head there.
And that's the end of the fight! Kurt Kendall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kendall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
