The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell misses with a straight right.
Howell on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Ruanti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Howell to the mat! Howell manages to get full guard.

Howell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ruanti escapes and throws Howell's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ruanti feints and then cracks Howell's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Howell down.
Ruanti connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Howell momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruanti throws a leg kick which misses Howell's front leg but catches the back leg as Howell tries to avoid it.
Howell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ruanti avoids it really well and circles away.

A bone on bone clash there as Ruanti blocks the leg kick.
Ruanti motions for Howell to come forward. Ruanti throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Howell drops his hands momentarily and Ruanti takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ruanti chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Howell can pounce on him.

That kick from Ruanti tenderised Howell's leg. Howell is trying to keep his angry face on.
Howell keeps Ruanti at a distance using the push kick.
Howell closes the distance and clinches up with Ruanti, looking for a takedown. Howell pushes Ruanti against the cage but Ruanti circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Ruanti has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Wukong turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
