Limbtwister on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Baba. Baba obviously looking to wear him down.
Limbtwister dives in and grabs Baba's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baba pushes down on Limbtwister's head and hops out.

The ref is looking closely - Limbtwister is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Limbtwister is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

I think Slamen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jaws Theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Dam throws a shot from downtown. Slamen moves away and avoids it.

Van Dam shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Slamen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Slamen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van Dam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Slamen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slamen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Van Dam finds it's way round the side to connect with Slamen's head.

Van Dam fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Slamen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Slamen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Slamen moves forwards but Van Dam connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Slamen tries to clinch there but Van Dam circles away.
Van Dam connects with a good right hand that stumbles Slamen. Slamen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Van Dam closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Slamen quickly recovers to half guard.

Van Dam looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slamen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
