The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon closes the distance and clinches up with Ushkanov, looking for a takedown. Nixon pushes Ushkanov against the cage but Ushkanov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nixon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ushkanov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ushkanov.
Nixon stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Nixon missing with knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Nixon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Nixon jumps guard.
Nixon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ushkanov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ushkanov wants to stand but Nixon is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ushkanov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Nixon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ushkanov, up you get!

Nixon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ushkanov smiles and moves away.

Nixon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ushkanov was covering up waiting for the punch and Nixon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ushkanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nixon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ushkanov, up you get!
The fight stays on the outside here - Nixon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nixon tries a knee to the head but Ushkanov blocks it.

Ushkanov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Ushkanov sprawls well. He's pushed Nixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Nixon counters with a big head kick but Ushkanov shrugs it off.

Ushkanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nixon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nixon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Androutsos lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Rotten! More strikes land and this one is all over! Androutsos jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Rua lands a body shot.

Oooooh!!! Rua has knocked Marx down with a huge combo! Rua steps away and waves a wobbly Marx back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Dan Marx has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rua dances in with a quick combination. Marx is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Rua snaps Marx's head back. Marx stumbles backwards against the cage. Rua steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Marx's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Marx just didn't come prepared.

Faber closes the distance and clinches up with Ex, looking for a takedown. Faber pushes Ex against the cage but Ex circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ex misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Faber fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ex avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Ex. No joy for Faber on that attempt.
Ulysses Ex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Faber.

Faber feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Faber stays in close to Ex's body and controls the position.
Ex controls Faber momentarily but Faber frees himself.
