The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pontes dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pontes.
Pontes has Novak pressed against the cage, preventing Novak from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Novak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pontes smiles and moves away.
Novak dives in and grabs Pontes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pontes pushes down on Novak's head and hops out.

Pontes moves into the clinch.
Novak wants to break the clinch but can't.

Novak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Novak gets tackled into the cage by Pontes. Pontes maintains the clinch.

Pontes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Pontes blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Novak is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pontes pulls him back up using the underhooks.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Pontes lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Novak quite badly. Novak pulls Pontes in close trying to recover. Pontes postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Novak on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Novak doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Progbeniak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Muroi.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Progbeniak has an Americana. Muroi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Progbeniak is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Progbeniak hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
