Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Lower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asmorg Meridyion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asmorg Meridyion told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lower drives through with a takedown into Meridyion's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Meridyion will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lower is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Meridyion is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Meridyion is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lower takes Meridyion's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Lower controlling the positon.

Meridyion is trying to roll into a better position but Lower has get a rear naked choke and Meridyion is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
