Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
David shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Handel sprawls well. Handel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. David gets slowly back to his feet.

Handel throws a nice looking combination but David bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

David's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Handel connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! David scrambles back to his feet.

Dexter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Burton regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burton is staying active underneath Dexter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dexter is nestled in close to Burton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dexter is working for a kimura but Burton is defending it quite comfortably.
Burton wants to get back to full guard.
Dexter is thwarting Burton's attempts to control the position.
Burton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dexter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dexter's back!

Vlad drops Carween with a left and a right! Oh, Carween is hurt - Vlad dives into side control looking to finish!

Vlad decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Carween scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Carween gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Carween tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Vlad is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Carween buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Carween!! Carween is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Vlad throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Olbrzymi Vlad! Olbrzymi Vlad retains his super heavyweight title!
