Foe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ungar to score with a decent uppercut.
Ungar looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Stuey Ungar has been cut.

Ungar lands with a hook. Silva tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ungar tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.

Silva lands a nice hook to Ungar's body. Ungar takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ungar looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Silva looks for the body kick but Ungar saw that one coming.

Ungar plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Ungar wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.

Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ungar stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Shogun Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ungar's sensitive parts.
Ungar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Silva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Silva lands a slapping body shot.
Silva swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Ungar throws a front kick aimed at Silva's knee but Silva avoids it well.
Silva works Ungar's body with a nice hook.
Silva misses the shot to the body.
Silva scores with a leg kick.
Ungar staying out of range there.
Silva connects with a body shot.
Ungar is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Ungar lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ungar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.
Silva throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ungar crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silva - the referee stops the clock and Ungar gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silva. Ungar manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Silva feints and then cracks Ungar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ungar down.
Silva lands a nice shot to the body.
Silva scores with a head kick.
Silva is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Silva is looking to land body kicks.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Ungar's front leg but catches the back leg as Ungar tries to avoid it.
Silva cracks Ungar with an open hand slap.

That has opened up Stuey Ungar's cut even more.
Silva lands a glancing blow to the side of Ungar's head.
Ungar on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Silva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ungar moves out of range of the body kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Silva lands a jab to the nose.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva pushes Ungar against the cage. Silva is working some dirty boxing. Silva pushes off with a quick right hook! Ungar goes down! Ungar tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Silva moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
