Connell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Aquino's elbow.

Aquino is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Aquino hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Stokes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Denver swivels and escapes.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Denver.

Denver throws a right hand that Stokes ducks under and follows up with a left that Stokes also avoids with ease.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costanza closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Leroix counters with a lead uppercut that lands right on the button! Costanza goes down! Will Costanza beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's up! No problem. Let's get back to the action!

It looks like George Costanza has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leroix misses with a low kick.
Costanza takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Costanza shoots in and gets a takedown into Leroix's guard.
Costanza postures up in Leroix's guard and throws a big left but Leroix blocks it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Leroix is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Costanza postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Leroix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Costanza, into his guard.

Costanza is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Leroix avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Leroix is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Costanza could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Leroix is looking to stand up but Costanza won't let him.
Costanza throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Costanza is on top in guard.

Costanza drops back looking for a leg! Leroix is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leroix manages to kick Costanza off! Costanza jumps back into Leroix's guard.
Costanza throws an elbow that misses. Leroix uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Costanza's guard. Nice move by Leroix!

Leroix got a little sloppy there for a moment and Costanza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leroix has managed to get both his arms back between Costanza's legs - danger averted.
Leroix not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Leroix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Costanza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leroix tries to stand but Costanza is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Costanza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Costanza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Costanza is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Leroix rolls with it to try and escape but Costanza cranks on the arm and Leroix is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
