These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Hayes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Emelianenko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Emelianenko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Emelianenko!
Hayes is trying to control Emelianenko's posture but Emelianenko avoids it.

Emelianenko decides to stand back up. Emelianenko steps back and let's Hayes get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emelianenko throws a hook to the side of Hayes's head but Hayes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Emelianenko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

I think Hayes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wukong avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wukong connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Wukong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wellington explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Wellington tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wukong was well out of range. Poor timing from Wellington.
Wellington tries to clinch up but Wukong circles away and keeps his distance.
A clash of legs there as Wukong blocks the low kick.

Wellington lands a big head kick that sends Wukong tumbling to the mat! Wellington takes a step backwards and waves Wukong back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Sun Wukong has been cut.
