Kom checks a leg kick.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kom keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kom throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kom looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kom as he jumps to the side.
Kom tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Kom.

Gracie feints and as Kom raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That was a close second round but I would say that JD Kom will probably get the nod.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arm misses with a series of wild punches.
Escobar drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Escobar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Escobar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Arm throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Escobar looks to score with a jab to the body but Arm is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Escobar or perhaps it was just good defense by Arm which made him look bad.

Escobar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Arm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Escobar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Arm to his feet.

and Escobar counters with a single leg into guard. Arm didn't expect that.

Arm wants to sweep here but Escobar controlling him for the moment.

Arm is working an open guard so Escobar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Escobar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Arm ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Arm no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Arm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Escobar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Arm makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Arm is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Escobar.

and Escobar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Arm thinking.

Escobar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jorma Arm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Arm feints and as Escobar raises his hands in defense, Arm changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Arm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Escobar keeps the fight on the outside.
Escobar closes the distance but Arm moves to the side
enabling Arm to counter with a crisp jab.
Arm swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Arm shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl out of it but Arm keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well Arm has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
