Drilon gets caught napping as Jim dives in and scores a takedown. Drilon manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drilon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jim has managed to get both his arms back between Drilon's legs - danger averted.

Drilon working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jim has passed into half guard!

Jim is trying for a kimura here. Drilon looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jim wins by kimura!

Van Halen looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Van Halen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Watkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Van Halen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Watkins lands a big head kick that sends Van Halen tumbling to the mat! Watkins takes a step backwards and waves Van Halen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Watkins looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Watkins backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Van Halen's temple! It sends Van Halen violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Watkins celebrates and the doctors try to help Van Halen!

After winning the bout, Matthew Watkins thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Spitteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jum Uytr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Spitteri might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Before I Forget. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Spitteri.
Horrible takedown by Uytr or perhaps it was just good defense by Spitteri which made him look bad.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Uytr stalling in the clinch but Spitteri improves position.
Spitteri is trying to stall.

Spitteri escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spitteri thows a body kick. Uytr tries to catch it but that hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spitteri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Uytr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Spitteri! Uytr is out on his feet! Spitteri rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Uytr is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Uytr is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
