The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett tries a head kick but it misses.

Good leg kick by Boxer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Boxer throws a leg kick which misses Barnett's front leg but catches the back leg as Barnett tries to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barnett has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Barnett there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Ruiner Barnett has been cut.
Ruiner Barnett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boxer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boxer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Boxer punishes Barnett's body with a nice straight punch.

and Boxer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Boxer drops Barnett with a beautiful combination! Barnett stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Boxer is looking for the KO!

Barnett is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Boxer lands a big head kick that sends Barnett tumbling to the mat! Boxer takes a step backwards and waves Barnett back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Boxer is looking to wear down Barnett with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Barnett on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Barnett's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Boxer, as that shot connected.

Boxer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Barnett takes a step back to recover.

Boxer lands a big uppercut and Barnett crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Barnett looks OK. Boxer waves Barnett back to his feet!
Boxer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barnett has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Barnett takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Boxer explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Boxer fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Barnett is aggressively charging in as Boxer backs up avoiding any damage. Boxer tosses out a jab and Barnett runs right into it face first! Barnett is out cold! Boxer dropped down on all fours and is barking in Barnett's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Barbara Boxer!
