 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter shoots in and gets a takedown into Punch's guard. Punch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Punch tries to get out of the position. Hunter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hunter throws a strike but Punch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Punch controlling from the top position.
Punch stands and steps away. Hunter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hunter looking to score a takedown here. Punch is defending well but Hunter drives through and ends up in Punch's guard. Hunter looks gassed! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Punch controlling Hunter's posture. Hunter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Punch pulls his head out easily. Punch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hunter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pearl pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carolla back to the cage. Pearl follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pearl drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Pearl postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pearl passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Pearl has an Americana. Carolla didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pearl is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pearl hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaven throws a series of punches but Schilt moves out of range. Eddie Gaven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schilt throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gaven. Schilt moves away from the strike by Gaven. Gaven connects with a looping right hand.
Gaven drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gaven postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Schilt wants to sweep here but Gaven controlling him for the moment. Schilt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gaven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gaven gets to his feet. Schilt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schilt throws a head kick that half lands.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuttle tries to close the distance and clinch but Widow swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tuttle throws a head kick that misses. Tuttle is looking to land body kicks. Tuttle throws the kick towards the body but Widow avoids it. Tuttle tries to clinch but Widow moves out of range. Tuttle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tuttle slaps away a takedown attempt from Widow, before circling back to the center of the mat. Widow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tuttle scores with a kick to the midsection. Widow avoids a kick to the body.

Tuttle is staying active underneath Widow, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hammer misses with a leg kick and Lusis counters with a slapping leg kick. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Lusis tries to clinch up but Hammer circles away and keeps his distance. Lusis throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Hammer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lusis finds it's way round the side to connect with Hammer's head. Lusis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Hammer thows a leg kick but Lusis checks it enabling Lusis to counter with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hammer throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Lusis checks a leg kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lusis misses with a looping left. Lusis is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Lusis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hammer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hammer looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Hammer misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hammer will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Hammer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lusis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hammer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lusis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hammer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lusis connects with an inside leg kick. Lusis looks for a takedown but Hammer sprawls well. Lusis keeps Hammer at a distance using the push kick. Lusis lands with a nice combination. Hammer backs away looking to recover. Hammer throws a leg kick but Lusis checks it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Lusis blocks a leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Hammer. That's going to slow Lusis down. Hammer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lusis. Hammer throws a head kick that Lusis semi-blocks.
An inside leg kick lands from Lusis. Hammer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. The fighters circling - Lusis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hammer cracks the inside of Lusis's front leg. Lusis throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hammer. Hammer will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
