Owen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is M.O.P. - Ante Up. Manalotto drops Manderson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Manderson looks back up at him and smiles so Manalotto waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Pamela Manderson has been cut.
Manalotto throws a wild body kick that Manderson sees coming a mile off.
Manalotto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Manderson at a distance.
Manalotto is looking to slow Manderson down with leg kicks.
Manalotto lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Manderson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Manalotto dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Pepito Manalotto really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that 1337 ANZAC logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rhodes pinned against the cage. Rhodes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Padilla's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rhodes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Padilla scrambles back to his feet.

Rhodes gets caught flat footed, as Padilla shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rhodes keeping moving, preventing Padilla from controlling successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Padilla throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rhodes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rhodes wants to stand and escape but Padilla is having none of it.
Padilla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rhodes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Padilla wants to pass the guard but Rhodes is keeping the position.

Padilla postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Padilla connects with a nice short shot to Rhodes's temple.
Padilla wants to take a breather but Rhodes is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Padilla is nestled in close to Rhodes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Padilla thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rhodes's head.
Rhodes scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Padilla manages to mount him!

Rhodes squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Padilla is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rhodes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Padilla is landing with some decent strikes but Rhodes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rhodes takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Padilla lands a nice shot to the head.
Rhodes is still in real trouble! Can Padilla finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
