The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reynolds shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Reynolds must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McNeil seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
McNeil keeping moving, preventing Reynolds from controlling successfully.
McNeil looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reynolds is one step ahead there.
Reynolds wants to stand but McNeil has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Reynolds is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McNeil wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Reynolds wasn't active enough on the ground.
McNeil throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reynolds's waist but Reynolds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McNeil off to one side.

Reynolds fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McNeil looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Reynolds is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McNeil shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Reynolds manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Reynolds is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McNeil working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Reynolds looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by McNeil! Submission of the night perhaps?

enabling Howard to counter with a crisp jab.

and Howard counters with a crisp one two that drops Nightingale! Howard thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Nightingale to his feet! Nightingale is in big trouble!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Howard lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Nightingale is looking to close the distance but Howard sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Nightingale crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Nightingale is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
