Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kamil Zygan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Sonnen! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zygan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sonnen defends it nicely.
Sonnen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zygan sprawls well initially but Sonnen persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sonnen working Zygan over with strikes. Sonnen winds up and cracks Zygan with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sonnen not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sonnen lands strikes from half guard. Sonnen trying to control the action but Zygan is working from the bottom. Sonnen working over Zygan with some ground and pound. Zygan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sonnen is looking to stand up but Zygan isn't so interested in that idea. Sonnen keeping moving, preventing Zygan from controlling successfully.

 The ref stands the fighters back up because Kamil Zygan just wasn't active enough. Zygan tries to clinch
and Sonnen counters with a single leg into guard. Zygan didn't expect that.
 The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Zygan looking for a guillotine here but Sonnen defends easily.

Sonnen distracts Zygan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sonnen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sonnen throws an elbow that misses. Zygan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sonnen's guard. Nice move by Zygan! Sonnen wants to stand but Zygan is controlling the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Zygan throwing strikes but missing. Zygan trying to control the position from guard on top but Sonnen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zygan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sonnen is proving hard to escape from.
Sonnen wriggles free and stands up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sonnen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zygan. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Sonnen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zygan to the ground. Sonnen is now in Zygan's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sonnen trying to control but Zygan is working from the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sonnen sitting in guard, not really doing much. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Sonnen wants to control from the top but Zygan keeps moving.
 Dan Sonnen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Zygan as Sonnen shoots in. Zygan tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Sonnen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Zygan shoots for a double leg takedown but Sonnen sprawls well. He's pushed Zygan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sonnen throws a poor cross that misses
and Zygan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sonnen!

Sonnen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zygan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sonnen with a flurry of punches that miss.

Sonnen trying to control the position from guard on top but Zygan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sonnen throws a strike but Zygan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Zygan passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sonnen pushes Zygan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Zygan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

And that's the end of the fight! Dan Sonnen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sonnen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. JJ Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayes misses with the combination.
Hayes lunges at Kulk with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kulk's hand.
 It looks like Krzysztof Kulk has been cut. Kulk avoids the body shot from Hayes.
Hayes throws a nice looking combination but Kulk bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hayes stalks Kulk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kulk's face. Kulk staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kulk slips a jab and a cross from Hayes.

Those have got to be taking their toll on Kulk's gas tank. Hayes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kulk stalling in the clinch but Hayes improves position. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Hayes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Kulk blocks a body shot from Hayes. Hayes lands with a short head shot on the inside.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. JJ Hayes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. JJ Hayes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Fowler sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
