The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel tries to clinch but Roberts moves away
and Roberts counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Roberts thows a leg kick but Angel checks it
and Angel counters with a left and a right that stings Roberts.

Roberts forces Angel back against the ropes and clinches.
Angel is looking to break free of the clinch but Roberts has double underhooks.
Roberts has Angel pressed against the ropes, preventing Angel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Angel is trying to break the clinch but Roberts is controlling him.
Roberts prevents the takedown attempt.

Roberts has clasped his hands together around Angel's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Angel tries to bench press Roberts off him but Roberts keeps the position.

Roberts decides to stand up, so the ref orders Angel to his feet.

Roberts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Angel manages to break the clinch.

Angel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roberts tries to avoid it but Angel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roberts to the ground. Roberts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Angel shoots in for a double leg but Roberts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Marduk Mendor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Whack! Mendor lands a heavy head kick that drops Dark. The ref tackles Mendor to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Dark was done.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sagan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well Joe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Kulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Von Paloukos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krzysztof Kulk had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Maynard is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Maynard hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Jordan Ward spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
