The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beef finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Beef avoids a punch combination nicely.
Torres cracks a nice hook into Beef's ribs. A slow jab from Beef misses its intended target. Nice straight punches there by Torres. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Torres.
It looks like Bubbles Beef has been cut. Torres clinches up with Beef and pushes him back against the cage. Torres tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Beef's elbow. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Beef escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beef takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Beef tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Torres closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Beef working hard to break the clinch. Beef wants to get back to striking at distance but Torres won't allow it.

Beef lands a big right hand that sends Torres crashing to the mat! Beef stays standing though and waves Torres back to his feet!
It looks like Edgar Torres has been cut. A bone on bone clash there as Torres blocks the leg kick.

Gabe Christianson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anjos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Christianson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Anjos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Christianson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Anjos shoots and misses and Anjos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo Anjos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takahashi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Arthur shoots in for a takedown and gets it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Arthur missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Arthur is looking to take a break and control but Takahashi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takahashi trying to hold on to Arthur's head to control him but Arthur postures up.

Arthur looks out on his feet and Takahashi throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sokolov loads up on a big right hand but Highbrook slips the punch. Sokolov throws a right and a left that Highbrook avoids nicely. Sokolov shoots in looking for a takedown but Highbrook manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sokolov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sokolov dives in and grabs Highbrook's left leg, looking for a takedown. Highbrook pushes down on Sokolov's head and hops out. Highbrook's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sokolov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Highbrook scrambles back to his feet. Sokolov misses with a hook
and Highbrook counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Highbrook changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sokolov tries to avoid it but Highbrook manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sokolov to the ground. Sokolov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sokolov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Highbrook sprawls well initially but Sokolov persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Sokolov lands strikes from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Highbrook trying to control here.
Sokolov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Sokolov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Highbrook is looking to improve his position.

Highbrook is looking to work some ground and pound but Sokolov has wrist control. Highbrook postures up in Sokolov's guard and throws a big left but Sokolov blocks it. Sokolov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Highbrook is one step ahead there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sokolov keeping moving, preventing Highbrook from controlling successfully. Highbrook in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hughes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hughes is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Guy can't fight it off and eventually Hughes manages to take the fight to the floor. Guy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hughes throwing strikes from guard but Guy blocks nicely. Guy looking for a sweep. Not yet Guy, not yet. Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hughes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hughes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. He thinks about going to the ground but Parker looks back up at him and smiles so Jackson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
