Azaati throws a left and a right that both miss
and Azaati takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Azaati misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Azaati looks to land a combination but Gilbert avoids it well.
Gilbert throws a hook to the side of Azaati's head but Azaati sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Gilbert fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Azaati on the side of the head.

Gilbert jumps guard and drags Azaati to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Azaati is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gilbert has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Azaati is looking to defend but Gilbert has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Azaati! Gilbert pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Azaati taps out and this one is all over!

Gilbert fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dos Santos sprawls well initially but Gilbert persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Winslow enables Thompson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Winslow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mael misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Abdel Salam counters with a left and a right that stings Mael .
Abdel Salam lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mael avoids a punch combination nicely.
Abdel Salam clobbers Mael with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mael has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Abdel Salam finds it's way round the side to connect with Mael 's head.
Mael tries to clinch up but Abdel Salam circles away and keeps his distance.
Mael gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Abdel Salam counters with a two punch combo.
Mael looks gassed!
Mael takes one to the chin there.
Mael on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Alan Mael seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abdel Salam fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mael tries to clinch but Abdel Salam moves away
and Abdel Salam counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mael thinking.

Abdel Salam comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mael avoids a punch combination nicely.
Abdel Salam feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mael sprawling to the canvas! Mael rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Abdel Salam finish him?!
Mael is rocked!
It looks like Alan Mael has been cut.

Abdel Salam thuds a left hand into Mael 's body.
Abdel Salam is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Mael flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Mael is out cold! Abdel Salam holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
