Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between CJ Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaec Caturan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 2pac & Dr.Dre - California Love. Jaec Caturan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, CJ Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaec Caturan! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caturan with a lazy takedown attempt and Johnson counters with a straight right hand. Caturan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut. Caturan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Caturan darts in trying to clinch and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Caturan off the ropes and back into rage. Caturan with a poor takedown so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. CJ Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaec Caturan. Johnson sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caturan striking off his back but it's not causing Johnson any problems. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Caturan is retaining full guard. Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Caturan looking to control.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Caturan swivels though and keeps the full guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Caturan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Johnson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Caturan looks gassed! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because CJ Johnson just wasn't active enough. Caturan has his takedown stuffed and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson working Caturan over with strikes. Johnson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of CJ Johnson. Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Caturan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson postures up and lands a big shot to Caturan's brow. Johnson is stalling in the full guard.
CJ Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Caturan enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Caturan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CJ Johnson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Johnson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Caturan down.
Caturan is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Caturan trying to remain calm as Johnson controls from the top position. Caturan is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Johnson takes a little break here. Caturan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Johnson working the head and body with strikes. Caturan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Johnson connects with a decent elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Caturan seems a little lost for a moment, as Johnson dominates the positioning. Johnson lands an elbow. Johnson controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up because CJ Johnson just wasn't active enough. Caturan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Caturan slips a jab from Johnson. Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Johnson lands a right hook to the body.

Johnson with a jab. Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Johnson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caturan is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea. Johnson controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Caturan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We're going to have a standup here because CJ Johnson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Johnson misses with an uppercut
and Caturan counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Johnson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Caturan has time to react. Caturan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Johnson controlling from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Johnson controlling the action here. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Caturan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

and Depool counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Depool moves to clinch but Stevens breaks away and Stevens counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Depool's guard now. Depool is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stevens is controlling him. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stevens seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Stevens content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Stevens throws a big right hand that misses. Stevens thows a big elbow that misses. Depool looking for a sweep. Not yet Depool, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Boksingero is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Johnson like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Johnson from another fist facial!

Jr gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hillis is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nowak pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nowak throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Masterson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Donk. Nowak catches Masterson right on the button with a cross. Nowak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masterson circles away quickly and effectively. Nowak looks to throw a body kick enabling Masterson to counter with a crisp jab. Masterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nowak. Masterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nowak was covering up waiting for the punch and Masterson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Masterson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Masterson pushing down on Nowak's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Masterson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Masterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hashimoto misses with a left hand and Ogasip counters with a three punch combo that has Hashimoto backing up. Hashimoto nods at Ogasip to acknowledge the strikes. Ogasip cracks Hashimoto with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ogasip gets tackled into the ropes by Hashimoto. Hashimoto maintains the clinch. Hashimoto lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Hashimoto scores with a hook to the body. Ogasip goes for a takedown attempt but Hashimoto pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Ogasip. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hashimoto, as that shot connected.

and Ogasip counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hashimoto checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Ogasip shoots for a double leg takedown but Hashimoto sprawls well. He's pushed Ogasip's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hashimoto misses with an uppercut
and Ogasip counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hashimoto throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ogasip on the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Hashimoto swings widly with a right hand
and Ogasip counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Ogasip counters with a stiff right hand. Hashimoto lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Ogasip counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hashimoto misses with a jab to the body
and Ogasip counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kazuo Hashimoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hashimoto lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
