The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruoff closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruoff looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Chopper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruoff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ruoff could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Chopper pushes Ruoff off looking to stand but Ruoff dives back in and keeps control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chopper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ruoff tries to avoid it but Chopper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ruoff to the ground. Ruoff escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Chopper lands a big right hand that sends Ruoff crashing to the mat! Chopper stays standing though and waves Ruoff back to his feet!

It looks like Tim Ruoff has been cut.
Crack! Chopper connects with the perfect overhand right and Ruoff falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Chopper!

Mendosa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silver's waist but Silver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendosa off to one side.
