The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pearson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Drake should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Drake connects with a couple of short punches.
Drake postures up in Pearson's guard and throws a big left but Pearson blocks it.
Drake thows a big elbow that misses.
Pearson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pearson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Drake is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Drake is looking to stand up but Pearson won't let him.

Pearson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drake gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Drake wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Pearson's closed guard. He's half up but Pearson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Pearson pivots and extends the arm, Drake falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Pearson! Well done that man!

Escudero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Escudero lands with a hook. Lee tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Escudero slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Kampmann which made him look bad.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kampmann looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kampmann tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Kampmann is working to get back to half guard.
Kampmann wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Silva.
Kampmann sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Silva scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kampmann is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Silva pulls his head out easily.

Kampmann is trying to stick to Silva's back but Silva is turning into Kampmann. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kampmann's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Silva.

That was a close round but I would say that Anton Silva will probably get the nod.
