The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paiva connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hatton momentarily.
Hatton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paiva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hatton looks to throw the jab but Paiva is out of range.
Paiva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ren Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hickson Hooah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck blaring out of the sound system. Hickson Hooah told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Gracie wants to land a leg kick but Hooah is out of range.
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hooah tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hooah somewhat.
Hooah misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ren Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hickson Hooah.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Hooah circles away.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hooah knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Whoa wants to clinch up but Paiva keeps it at a distance.
Like Whoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

I think Brown might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to UGK - Murder.
