The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshifumi tries to bum rush smith with a series of wild strikes but smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
smith dodges the punch combination from Yoshifumi.
Yoshifumi throws out a loose jab but smith uses good head movement to avoid it.

smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yoshifumi sprawls well initially but smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

smith is working for a kimura but Yoshifumi is defending it quite comfortably.

Yoshifumi is defending against the submission attempts here by smith.

Joe walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Trained by checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Joe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Trained by scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Joe manages to mount him!

Despite being in the dominant position, Samoa Joe just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Joe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trained by's guard.

Well Joe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
