Bird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bird has his foot on Sane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sane works his way back into a safe position though.

Sane is thwarting Bird's attempts to control the position.
Sane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sane wants to free his trapped foot but Bird is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sane is trying to control. Bird wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bird gets back to full guard.
Sane makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Bird is trying to keep Sane in close.
Sane works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Sane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bird's head.
Bird is not content to let Sane control the position.
Sane is pressing down on Bird's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bird is holding on for now.
Bird is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sane scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sane looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bird with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kevin Bird has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Justin Sane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Sane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh G Rection (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome McGraw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rection comes to the cage accompanied by Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth. McGraw has chosen Born Winner (Wretch 32) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Hugh G Rection has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hugh G Rection seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGraw gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rection comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rection dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McGraw looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice shot by Rection.
Hugh G Rection seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGraw gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rection.
Rection jabs McGraw right on the nose. McGraw blinks but takes it well.
Rection feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending McGraw crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
