Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nicolaou lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bond has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bond and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexandros Nicolaou.

Spartan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Laurent moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fern stalks Muller and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Muller's face. Muller staggers backwards, shaken.

Fern has closed the distance and engaged Muller in a clinch.
Muller is trying to break free.
Muller wants to get back to striking at distance but Fern won't allow it.
Fern has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Muller avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Muller gets caught flat footed, as Fern shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Fern shoots in and bounces Muller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fern passes Muller's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Muller connects with a nice short shot to Fern's temple.

Fern shoots in looking for a takedown. Muller tries to sprawl out of it but Fern keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Muller stuffs the takedown attempt from Fern. Fern gets slowly back to his feet.
Laslo Muller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucius Fern.

and Fern counters with a big head kick but Muller shrugs it off.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fern shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee warns Muller that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Well Fern has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
