Big had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Big Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alves's back instead.
Big should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Big is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Alves knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Alves for a finish.

Kazasuki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcia tries to avoid it but Kazasuki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcia to the ground. Garcia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Connor.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denny Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alessio Fuschini!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuschini feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Crane's calf.
Crane slips a straight right by Fuschini.
Crane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fuschini swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Crane.
Crane shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuschini tries to sprawl out of it but Crane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Fuschini manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice combo by Fuschini! Oh, that's hurt him - Crane falls to the canvas and Fuschini follows him into side control.

It looks like Denny Crane has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fuschini has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Fuschini stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fuschini thows a body shot but no joy.
Crane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Crane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fuschini.

Fuschini throws a front kick that sends Crane stumbling back into the ropes.
Crane is breathing heavily.
A punch combination from Fuschini misses.
Crane drops his hands momentarily and Fuschini takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fuschini will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fuschini connects with a single shot there.
Fuschini moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fuschini darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Fuschini scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Fuschini comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fuschini drops Crane with a beautiful combination! Crane stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Fuschini is looking for the KO!
Fuschini cracks Crane with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Crane tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Fuschini pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Crane is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alessio Fuschini!
