Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Zion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thai Leng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zion comes to the cage accompanied by Lars Frederiksen & The Bastards - 1%. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leng tries to close the distance and clinch but Zion swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zion looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Leng misses with a takedown attempt - Zion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Leng is looking to clinch but Zion is avoiding it.

Zion decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Zion throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Leng regains full guard. Nicely done.

Zion avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Leng had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zion is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Leng Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zion's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Zion's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
