The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carano throws a hook to the side of Kjellstrom's head but Kjellstrom sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Carano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Carano throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kjellstrom takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Carano slips under a jab from Kjellstrom.

Carano misses with a looping right.
Kjellstrom gets caught flat footed, as Carano shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carano drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kjellstrom dives on top into guard.
Carano throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kjellstrom escapes and throws Carano's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Carano tries to improve position but can't.
Carano tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kjellstrom presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Carano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kjellstrom as he avoids it easily.
Kjellstrom cracks Carano with an uppercut from hell and Carano crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Kjellstrom's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
It looks like Gino Carano has been cut.
Kjellstrom postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carano is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kjellstrom, into his guard.
Carano throws a strike but Kjellstrom rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Carano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kjellstrom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kjellstrom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carano is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kjellstrom pulls his head out easily.
