Hakkonson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hoft does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Cylo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stiff Bonnar!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cylo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bonnar on the side of the head.

Bonnar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bonnar lands in his opponent's guard.
Bonnar wants to control from the top but Cylo keeps moving.

Cylo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bonnar sprawls well initially but Cylo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cylo is stalling here. Bonnar is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cylo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bonnar has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cylo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cylo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bonnar stacks Cylo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bonnar!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cylo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bonnar keeps working.
Bonnar is looking for a sweep. Cylo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
