The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapedis scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bowers in his tracks.

It looks like Jonathan Bowers has been cut.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lapedis checks a leg kick.
Bowers shoots in looking for a takedown. Lapedis tries to sprawl out of it but Bowers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lapedis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lapedis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bowers had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lapedis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bowers Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lapedis's back instead.

Bowers looking to break Lapedis's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lapedis remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bowers will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
