The fighters circling - Tomas throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Horrible takedown by Tomas or perhaps it was just good defense by Winland which made him look bad.

Winland manages to get his head free but now Tomas has transitioned to an armbar! Winland grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Tomas! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hargh connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple.

Hargh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well.
Hargh uses his free foot to push down on Sanchez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanchez.

Hargh is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sanchez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hargh tries to take Sanchez's back but instead Sanchez uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Carter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carter looks to land a combination but Piston avoids it well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Piston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carter fails to land the takedown.
Piston keeps the fight on the outside.
Piston wants to clinch
and Carter counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Piston is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Carter tries to keep at a distance but Piston has taken the fight into the clinch.
Piston tries to land knees in the clinch but Carter avoids the damage to the body.
Carter blocks the elbow strike.
Piston tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Piston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carter circles away from the clinch attempt
and Carter counters with a head kick.
Piston is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him?

Carter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Carter! Piston is backing up but he can't get away as Carter lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Piston and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Terry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ali manages to avoid it.
Ali looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ali shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Terry but Terry pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ali has had enough of the clinch but Terry keeps him there for the moment.

Ali wants to sweep but no luck.

Ali pushes Terry off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
No joy there for Ali, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Ali counters with a shoot takedown. Terry fights it but they end up in guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leroy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Leroy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Leroy not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Leroy prevents Jackson from improving his position.
Jackson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Leroy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Leroy's back!

Leroy manages to stand up with Jackson still on his back. Eventually Jackson drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Jackson tries to bum rush Leroy with a series of wild strikes but Leroy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Leroy's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Leroy passes the guard and advances to mount!

Simpson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gemelli but Gemelli pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Simpson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Simpson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gemelli's waist but Gemelli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Simpson off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gemelli shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gemelli lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Simpson hang on?

A big strike lands for Gemelli! That's really hurt Simpson and he's turned his back - Gemelli keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Gemelli Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
