Devereau throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rico Ramano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Bizzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramano comes to the cage accompanied by Not Ready to Go. Bizzel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Beggin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mike Bizzel struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Shum shoots in for a double leg but McSofterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Shum. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rush shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Franklin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet but Rush is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rush wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
Rush stops Franklin from standing up.
Rush content to stall in guard here.
Franklin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rush manages to pass to side control.

Franklin kicks Rush off and gets back to his feet.

Rush blocks a jab.

Rush feints and as Franklin raises his hands in defense, Rush changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rush is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Franklin is looking to stand up but Rush isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rush wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.

Franklin uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Rush drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rush prevents Franklin from getting back to his feet.
Franklin is breathing heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rush controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Franklin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rush prevents Franklin from getting back to his feet.
Rush is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet but Rush is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rush advances position into side control!
Franklin is not content to let Rush control the position.
Rush lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Franklin down.
Rush prevents Franklin from escaping the position.

Rush tries to move into full mount but can't pass Franklin's legs.
Franklin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rush is controlling him well.
You can see the frustration on Franklin's face as Rush controls the position.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet but Rush drags him back down.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Rush decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Franklin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Franklin pushes Rush off and gets back to his feet.
Rush tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Franklin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Franklin cracks Rush with an uppercut from hell and Rush crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Franklin's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Rush is rocked!

It looks like Jesper Rush has been cut.

Franklin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Rush is still on wobbly legs! Can Franklin finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Franklin fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Rush square on the jaw! Damn, Rush is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
