The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samawah lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Samawah shoots for a double leg takedown but Griffith sprawls well. He's pushed Samawah's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Griffith bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Samawah fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Griffith scores with a one two! Samawah had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Sejawii Samawah has been cut.

Griffith throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Samawah stumbling backwards into the cage! Samawah bounces back off the cage towards Griffith, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Griffith lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Griffith celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
