The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson throws a shot from downtown. Sharp moves away and avoids it.
Nelson tests Sharp's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sharp closes the distance but Nelson moves to the side

so Nelson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nelson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Nelson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Nelson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sharp's guard.
Nelson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sharp trying to hold on to Nelson's head to control him but Nelson postures up.

Nelson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sharp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nelson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Nelson is taking a breather. Sharp says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Nelson is nestled in close to Sharp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Nelson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sharp defends it well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nelson connects with a nice short shot to Sharp's temple.

Nelson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sharp defends it well.

Nelson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sharp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Wrestling Machine. Mike Tyler had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be a great matchup!

and Coach counters with a flying knee. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coach fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smash.
Coach lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smash's sensitive parts.
Dustin Smash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smash wants to clinch but Coach slips to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Smash is breathing heavily.
Smash takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Smash enables Coach to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Coach works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Coach lands a strong strike to the head of Smash. That's dazed him! Coach looking to finish here. Smash is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Coach lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Williams throws a lazy right hand but Stone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Stone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Williams is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stone.
Williams throws a jab when Stone was well out of range.
Williams pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stone back to the cage. Williams follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Williams lands with a nice body punch.

Stone gets a takedown into half guard.
Stone is trying to control. Williams wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Stone moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that!

Stone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Williams can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
