The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monster closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
William looking for a sweep but Monster has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Monster controlling the position easily from mount.
It looks like Monster might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
William really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Monster looking to control and managing it successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. The Monster hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Monster moves forwards but William connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Monster closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

William is looking to regain half guard here but Monster keeps moving and retains side control.

Monster creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
William is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Monster scores with punches from side control.
William wants to get back to his feet.

Monster decides to stand back up. Monster steps back and let's William get back to his feet.

William has hold of Monster's hands but Monster slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cashier gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Gribble gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Norris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mir tries to avoid it but Norris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mir to the ground. Mir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mir misses with a low kick as Norris jumps back.
Norris with a poor takedown
and Mir counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Norris off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Mir follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Norris was out before he hit the floor.

Hung misses with a hook. Cheese ducked under it nicely.

Hung lands the left hand.
Hung wants to clinch up but Cheese keeps it at a distance.
Hung connects with a crisp jab.

Hung sends Cheese crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hung is motioning to the referee to let Cheese up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Hung is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hung lands with a big right hook that stumbles Cheese - he's out on his feet here! Hung follows up with another monster hook that separates Cheese from consciousness! Cheese falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Hung stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Skrilla throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Skrilla counters with a head kick. That will keep Kreese thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Kreese counters with a left and a right that hurts Skrilla! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Kreese jumps into full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kreese throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Skrilla because Kreese loaded up on that one.
Kreese prevents Skrilla from getting the reversal.
Skrilla is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kreese with the ground and pound from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Skrilla tries to hold on but Kreese postures up.
A nice elbow there by Kreese.

That was a close round but I would say that John Kreese will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kreese with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Skrilla keeping moving, preventing Kreese from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kreese is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Skrilla is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kreese cracks Skrilla with a solid left hand.

Skrilla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kreese gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kreese throws a strike but Skrilla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kreese wants to sweep here but Skrilla controlling him for the moment.
John Kreese overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kreese is controlling Skrilla's posture.

Skrilla trying to control but Kreese is working from the bottom.

Skrilla content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kreese has locked up a guillotine! Kreese's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Skrilla is holding on here and Kreese must be using up a lot of energy. Skrilla has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kreese gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
