OK we're going to have a standup here. Barbara Boxer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Boxer counters with a head kick that drops Pounder to the mat! Pounder scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Boxer throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Pounder is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brannigan feints and as Carwin raises his hands in defense, Brannigan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carwin holds on and takes a little breather.
Carwin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brannigan is one step ahead there.
Carwin has control of Brannigan's left arm, preventing Brannigan from doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brannigan moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brannigan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like FiveX Carwin has been cut.
Brannigan connects with a single shot there.
Brannigan delivers a nice body kick.
Carwin is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Brannigan drops Carwin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Carwin looks back up at him and smiles so Brannigan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Carwin is rocked!
Carwin gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Brannigan points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Carwin wakes up just in time to hear Brannigan thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
