GAMMA Gosspip #51 DecemberReview

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

GAMMA' had another very solid month, we increased our total fighters base in the top 1000 to 94 (84 are in GAMMA, 1 is at another org for a super fight, 9 of those fighters are in our rookie affiliate organizations at the moment). This is an increase of 6 fighters (or almost 7%) since last month!

145lbs Division

Fernando Prado defended his title Ein Stein and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi during the past month essentially clearing out the division. Fernando is on a ridiculous 19-1 run at the moment and is one of the hottest names in MMA at just 29y of age. A massive super fight is up next for this top 10 ranking fighter with several of the biggest names out there interested in taking his scalp. Some of the names being tooted are "The Hellraiser" Henrik Torhammer and Eliah "The Black Assassin" Marshal, both known premier fighters. Lets wait and see what the future holds.

155lbs Division

Krystian "Wojna" Wojnasiewicz has had a frustrating month after making it 6 straight wins with Timofey Boyko being his latest victim via unanimous decision. Krystian was suppose to fight current #1 ranked fighter and Olympic 155lbs winner Donny Donowitz, however the world champ is stalling negotiations. The fight is expected to take place in January though.

Some of the major additions to this division are Afa Sila and Eka Tahuna. Eka is already booked to fight against Sobral in a fight which should put him close to contention and Afa is still waiting for his opportunity on the sidelines. Both fighters have potential though and should be pushing Krystian for the title in the near future.

170lbs Division

The two big stories for this division in the past month is Arthur Pinto's unexpected loss to Rufus McTearson and then him going on hiatus. He has not been seen in MMA for the past month. Rufus then lost the title straight away to the now 6 time 170lbs champion Renan St Juste! Renan's chin will be tested against Galloway Sackett which is a rookie on a mission at the moment, riding a 9 fight winning streak and a graduate of the GAMMA: Contender affiliate network. He beat veteran Hell Rose in his first fight and is now pushing Renan for the title.

185lbs Division

This title picture changes more often than most people change their underwear. It is also our deepest division with 6 fighters inside the top 200 p4p. Viv Richards is the latest 185lbs champion, but the way this division has been going in recent months, he will probably struggle to keep onto this title for long. The last fighter to hold the title for more than 2 defenses was Arthur Curry and that was in April last year. Since then the title has changed hands a ridiculous 7 times, which is a record for a top level org in the past 2-3 years.

Scotty Bennet has decided to come back to the org he held the 205lbs title after participating in the Olympic games. He had a good run in TTFC winning the title there and hopes to end his career on a high.

205lbs Division

Gunnar Gustavsson is still the 205lbs champ after defending against Lars Voller. His next opponent is veteran Nero Padilla which is 2-0 in GAMMA since joining. Nero will be hoping that his success from CCF will translate to similar success in GAMMA and so far he has not backed down.

Pertti Silsa, Never More and Alexander Emelianenko and the most significant signings for the 205lbs division over the past 1 month, all ranked inside the top 400 p4p.

265 and 265+lbs Divisions

Gunnar Steigelmann moved down from 265lbs after losing the title to Rau Utu and found himself as the highest ranking fighter and got an immediate title shot against Tony Slevin which he took straight away winning by KO. He faces Julien "The French Psychopath" Touret which is on a 4 fight winning streak himself.

Old boy Rau Utu will be fighting long time GAMMA veteran and 265lbs champ Patrick Bateman which has managed to regain his championship form once again.

The most significant addition to the roster is Keijo Harkimo which switched camps from CEC.

Other news

Timofey Boyko

Timofey Boyko will be retiring after completing his last fight, with a potential HOF induction to follow later on in this year.

Jt Colossus Record

Jt has surpassed the 50 fight mark at the age of 45! This old school veteran also holds the record for most total KO's with 26 at the moment.

Renan St Juste

Is a 6 time 170lbs champion! I think this is a record which will unlikely ever been beat in a top level org unless you try to fabricate it some way. Not enough can be said about this 40y old veteran which is still yet to be KOed after 73 professional fights! Possibly the best chin in history.
